Essentia is responsible for the majority of non-clinical healthcare services at the Trust. We design, build and maintain healthcare infrastructure, vital to the smooth running of services. A most recent build is the prestigious Cancer Treatment Centre at Guy’s hospital.

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Fire Safety Manager to join our capital development team.

As a valued member of the team you will:

  • Ensure legal compliance is maintained, as required by various Acts of
    parliament and local by-laws
  • Ensure that the fire brigade is informed of any work that may affect fire
    safety of any building
  • Ensure by annual review that all fire risk assessments across the trust are compliant with Firecode, RRO and building control requirements
  • Ensure that any actions out of fire risk assessments are closed
  • Review and comment on Capital project fire strategy drawings
  • Inspect capital project building sites to ensure that trust fire safety
    requirement is being adhered to

The successful candidate will have previous fire service experience, including providing training, of fire risk assessing buildings annually, 2 yearly as required and have a technical understanding of the aspects of firefighting equipment. In addition, the candidate will be a Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers or Moreton-in-the-Marsh trained and have experience of working in accordance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order.
