Do you want to be a part of UK's most busy and successful foundation trusts?

Are you looking for an opportunity to develop your career within a unique and dynamic environment?

We are one of the largest cardiac catheter lab units in the country and we are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 6 radiographer to join our friendly and supportive team. Our department is based at St Thomas’ Hospital in a great central location next to the London Eye, Palace of Westminster and the Houses of Parliament. St Thomas' Hospital is a large NHS teaching hospital. It is one of the institutions that comprises the King's Health Partners, an Academic Health Sciences Centre where world-class research, education and clinical practice are brought together for the benefit of patients.

We have state of the art dedicated interventional cardiology labs. The successful candidate will be joining us during an exciting time as we continue to improve and expand our services. You will have the opportunity to participate in transcaval TAVI procedures, vascular interventional procedures and complex cases carried out within the Hybrid lab.

You will take part in specialist cardiac interventions such as TAVIs, TMVIs, CTOs, PFOs, complex device implantations and electrophysiology studies. You will also be involved with internationally recognised research work at the cutting edge of Cardiology and cardiovascular imaging. We will give you the opportunity to participate in live study days to represent our Trust.

Previous demonstrable experience in cath labs is desirable. However, full training will be provided to the successful candidates with little or no cath lab experience. You will need the ability to work under pressure with a flexible approach to working time. A sympathetic, caring approach and the ability to work within a team is essential. There is an expectation that you will be able to take part in the out-of-hours on call acute service and shifts.

We actively support and encourage Radiographers in their career development and are committed to providing increased opportunities to widen specialist skills. CPD and audit are actively encouraged and teaching is supported. If you would like to be considered for this opportunity please apply online. Applicants must be HCPC registered prior to interview.

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
