We think you will enjoy working for us but you don’t have to take our word for it – 79% of staff who took part in the latest national NHS Staff Survey would recommend Guy’s and St Thomas’ as a place to work.

A new and exciting career opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and suitably experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist in our Structural Heart Disease service at St Thomas’ Hospital.

The role will be a 6 month, Band 6 secondment to the team.

This role includes the pathway and care of patients undergoing TAVI procedure, the new percutaneous mitral programme and infective endocarditis.

The post holder will be part of a team who deliver advanced practice nursing to a defined group of patients and act as an expert clinical resource to facilitate the patient pathway. You will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and be instrumental in the day to day management of these patients.

You will be an integral part of the team, learning to assess the patients in clinic and on the ward formulating a daily plan on the ward round. Additionally you will be required to maintain and further develop your theoretical knowledge and physical examination skills.

As part of the Cardiovascular Directorate at Guys & St Thomas', you will be part of an exciting development of a Cardiovascular Institute. In partnership with the Kings Health Partners, we are in the process of working towards one team working. As a consequence there are many opportunities to develop, and we are keen to involve our staff both clinically and academically.
