Guy’s and St Thomas’ is among the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts. We provide a full range of hospital and community services for people in Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham, as well as specialist care for patients from further afield including cancer, renal, orthopaedic and cardiovascular services.

Guy’s is home to the largest dental school in Europe and a £160 million Cancer Centre opened in 2016. As part of our commitment to provide care closer to home, in 2017 we also opened a cancer centre and a kidney treatment centre at Queen Mary’s Hospital in Sidcup. St Thomas’ has one of the largest critical care units in the UK and one of the busiest emergency departments in London. It is also home to Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

The commitment of our 17,100 staff is key to our success. We are one of the largest local employers and we aim to develop and support all our staff so they are able to deliver high quality, safe and efficient care. The 2018 NHS staff survey results show that we have one of the most engaged and motivated workforces in the NHS. We know this has a positive impact on the care provided to our patients.

Evelina London is at the heart of a network of children’s health services in Lambeth and Southwark and across South-East England. We provide a comprehensive range of children’s health services, so that we are able to look after patients from antenatal diagnosis through childhood, into adolescence and on into adult services.

This is an exciting time of change and development within our Children’s Community Nursing services. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Children’s Community Nursing Matron to continue to help shape and build a local comprehensive children’s nursing services for children, young people and their families within Lambeth and Southwark. Applicants will have worked as an autonomous practitioner within the community setting and/or primary care previously and have excellent organisational, time management and communication skills to support and lead the clinical team.  This is a fantastic opportunity to use your knowledge and experience to develop new pathways and roles to deliver services fit for the future that meet the needs of our local population.

You will be supported by our Lead Nurse for Children’s Community Nursing to provide leadership to our Children’s Community Nursing team the Evelina at Home team, children’s community nursing team and complex needs team.

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.
