Join us and become part of the most engaged workforce of any NHS trust in England, according to the latest national NHS Staff Survey results – for the second year running.

You will be joining a dynamic and forward-looking organisation in the heart of the capital where you can develop your career and broaden your horizons.

We think you will enjoy working for us but you don’t have to take our word for it – 79% of staff who took part in the latest national NHS Staff Survey would recommend Guy’s and St Thomas’ as a place to work.

Are you looking to develop a career in clinical trial data management? Would you like to join a dynamic and motivated team delivering ground-breaking research in advanced therapeutics and experimental medicine?

We are looking for a Data Manager to join our team at the NIHR Biomedical Research Council based at Guy’s & St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and King’s College London. Working across the Clinical Trial Management and Data Management/Statistics Research Platforms, you will play a key role in managing data for a portfolio of innovative early phase clinical studies, testing advanced cellular, biological and drug therapies across a range of therapeutic areas.

You will work alongside BRC Clinical Trial Managers, Database Developers and Statisticians to support the Research Platform portfolio.  You will develop strong working relationships with investigators and clinical members of research teams to ensure the quality and completeness of data collected, in line with all applicable regulatory requirements. This wide-ranging role will include assisting with the design and testing of case report forms, developing data management plans, performing regular quality control checks and assisting with data extraction.

You will be motivated to deliver high quality data management and committed to working in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment.  Experience of data collection or processing, and handling confidential information is essential, along with knowledge of ICH GCP, Clinical Trial Regulations and the Data Protection Act. You will have strong attention to detail and proven IT skills, with the ability to work flexibly across different projects and communicate effectively as part of a team.

Applicant requirements

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
