We are looking for an experienced research Data Manager to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary research team at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

This post will be based in the Transplant, Renal & Urology (TRU) and Gastrointestinal Medicine & Surgery (GMS) directorates at Guy's hospital and funded through the Research and Development Department and the South London Clinical Research Network (CRN).

The post-holder will provide an efficient and effective information service to internal and external contacts. They will be responsible for the collection and management of research data for the TRU and GMS directorates.

The post holder will provide advice and leadership on issues dealing with:

  • Data collection and data entry management
  • Use of patient records
  • Data protection and confidentiality issues
  • Maintenance and security of research data

In addition, the post holder will be responsible for maintaining systems and standard operating procedures for the data management of the trials and supporting others to report accurately and effectively. The post holder will be responsible for monitoring data integrity, ensuring datasets are full, accurate and up-to-date. They will assist in the development of standard operating procedures and guidelines to ensure that data quality is improved and maintained.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
