Clinical Nurse Specialist - Bladder and Bowel - Band 7

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious, dynamic, motivated and responsive individual to join the Adult Community Bladder & Bowel Service as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. The post will involve working autonomously in various clinics across Lambeth & Southwark, alongside contributing to the clinical governance framework of the service. The post holder will be expected to conduct high quality nurse-led bladder and bowel clinics through either face to face or telephone consultations providing expertise in a range of bladder and bowel problems. We are an established and evolving service delivering expert care across the two London boroughs with the support of the largest and highest performing NHS trust in the UK. The service is fully integrated with the acute hospitals of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Lead Nurse Specialist to support in the management of the service and team. Resilience, a flexible approach to working and the ability to act as a role model are essential components of the role. In return we will offer flexible work opportunities, a comprehensive induction programme with competency based learning and the support of a forward thinking and dynamic team open to new ideas. The post holder would have the opportunity to implement changes in nursing care to improve patient outcomes and service delivery. We offer you a number of developmental opportunities within a supportive, friendly environment to further your career and skills within this extremely rewarding area of nursing.

As well as having experience in caring for patients with bowel & bladder problems you must be a team player, have excellent communication skills and always put patients first. The post-holder will play a key role in educating non-specialist staff, the wider district nursing teams and patients within the specialty and will therefore be expected to demonstrate some experience in teaching.
