Join us and become part of the most engaged workforce of any NHS trust in England, according to the latest national NHS Staff Survey results – for the second year running.

You will be joining a dynamic and forward-looking organisation in the heart of the capital where you can develop your career and broaden your horizons.

We think you will enjoy working for us but you don’t have to take our word for it – 79% of staff who took part in the latest national NHS Staff Survey would recommend Guy’s and St Thomas’ as a place to work.

Are you committed to providing first-rate patient care, promoting self-care and aim to reduce unnecessary hospital admissions?

Would you like to be part of a team that is rapidly developing and exploring new approaches to district nursing?

If so, then you might be the person we are looking for to join our dedicated community team.

At Guy’s and St Thomas’ we are proud that we care for our staff as much as our patients. We ensure that our staff are supported and are the only Trust in the UK to offer a Transition Programme which gives our nurses the knowledge and skills to take their care to the community. Once you have joined the Trust, this programme will ensure that you are fully able to provide outstanding care to our patients in the community. You will receive excellent training and opportunities for development, clinical supervision and appraisals.

Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is the first Trust in the UK to trial a new model of District Nursing known as the Buurtzorg Model, an entirely Nurse-led approach to patient care in the community. The future of District Nursing at our Trust will be revolutionary. We hope to move forward with this model after the project so in the future you could find yourself working in a completely different way.

If you would like to gain broader knowledge and experience in our community services and explore different opportunities then why not apply to our rotation programme? You will have the opportunity to work in our virtual ward @Home service, rehabilitation units and District Nursing or we can even create a bespoke rotation programme depending on your areas of interest.

Assessment Date 7th July 2017
Closing date: 29th June 2017

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
