Band 7 EB Clinical Nurse Specialist - South of the UK

30 hours per week, days to be negotiated

Specialist Ambulatory Care Directorate St John's Institute of Dermatology

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated nurse to join the nursing team supporting adults with the genetic skin disorder Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). The post holder will be a member of a larger well established MDT at the world renowned St Johns Institute of Dermatology within Guy’s & St Thomas Hospital, London. The newly opened Rare Diseases Centre within St Thomas ‘Hospital provides patients with seamless person centred care in a welcoming and uplifting environment.

The post is home based but within easy reach of London. The role involves hospital, inpatient and clinical support, however a core aspect of the nursing service involves support of people with EB in their homes. Therefore extensive travel throughout the UK and flexibility in working patterns is essential.

Applicants must be experienced registered nurses and have practiced at a minimum of band 6 or above for at least 2 years. We are looking for someone who is organised, flexible and autonomous while balancing conflicting priorities and demands. Experience of EB is not an essential requirement but previous experience in dermatology, tissue viability, palliative care and/or experience of working with patients with life limiting conditions would be valuable. Applicants with a background in community nursing may also be considered.

The successful candidate must hold a full UK driving licence and access to a car is essential.

The team works in partnership with DEBRA.
