Join us and become part of the most engaged workforce of any NHS trust in England, according to the latest national NHS Staff Survey results – for the second year running.

You will be joining a dynamic and forward-looking organisation in the heart of the capital where you can develop your career and broaden your horizons.

We think you will enjoy working for us but you don’t have to take our word for it – 79% of staff who took part in the latest national NHS Staff Survey would recommend Guy’s and St Thomas’ as a place to work.

Evelina London Children’s healthcare brings together the Trust’s services for children, with the Evelina London Children’s Hospital at the heart of these. With an annual turnover of more than £150 million and 1,700 staff, and further rapid growth, it is the second largest provider of specialist children’s services in London and also provides a local child health service for Lambeth & Southwark.

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and can-do manager to join our Paediatric Cleft and Plastic Surgery specialties at Evelina London. The Service Manager role is a full time position, accountable to the General Manager.

Your role will be to operationally manage the services, provide clear leadership and ensure delivery against our performance goals. You will work closely with service leads, clinicians, managers and other staff across the Trust and in the local healthcare economy. You will provide proven leadership and expert advice to your teams to help deliver high standards of care and a quality, patient-centred service with an ethos around continuous improvement.

We can offer you:

• Career development through one of our internal leadership programmes;
• Support to advance your skills in general, financial and workforce management;
• Mentoring opportunities within the Trust;
• Study leave as part of your Personal Development Plan.

In order to be short-listed, you will be expected to provide succinct and clearly referenced evidence which demonstrates that you fulfil the essential requirements for the position.

Shortlisted candidates are expected to make informal enquiries ahead of the interview to gain insights into the services.

Richard Morton, General Manager for Children’s Surgery & PICU via email or telephone (020 718 84689).

Applicant requirements

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
