Guy’s and St Thomas’ is among the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts. We provide a full range of hospital and community services for people in Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham, as well as specialist care for patients from further afield including cancer, renal, orthopaedic and cardiovascular services.

Guy’s is home to the largest dental school in Europe and a £160 million Cancer Centre opened in 2016. As part of our commitment to provide care closer to home, in 2017 we also opened a cancer centre and a kidney treatment centre at Queen Mary’s Hospital in Sidcup. St Thomas’ has one of the largest critical care units in the UK and one of the busiest emergency departments in London. It is also home to Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

The commitment of our 17,100 staff is key to our success. We are one of the largest local employers and we aim to develop and support all our staff so they are able to deliver high quality, safe and efficient care. The 2018 NHS staff survey results show that we have one of the most engaged and motivated workforces in the NHS. We know this has a positive impact on the care provided to our patients.

Evelina London Children’s Hospital is at the heart of a network of children’s health services across South East England, and the first children's hospital to be rated 'Outstanding' by the Care Quality Commission. We provide a comprehensive range of children’s healthcare services and we continue to evolve and grow, transforming our services. So come and meet us and let us transform your career.

Snow Leopard provides a unique service looking after children who are on Long Term Ventilation, Neurorehabilitation or under the Sleep medicine department.

We have six Long Term Ventilation beds and as a unit we pride ourselves on creating a Home from Home environment, helping to ease the move from hospital to home for long-term ventilated children and their families.

We have two Neurorehabilitation beds, offering a programme of inpatient rehabilitation to children and young people up to 16 years of age with acquired brain and spinal cord injuries. Our focus is to develop or regain skills to minimise the impact of a brain or spinal cord injury on their everyday life.

We have three, but will be expanding to five Sleep Medicine beds. We work closely with our colleagues in the Children’s Sleep Medicine Department to support them in providing a range of sleep evaluations, from simple diagnostics to complex sleep studies. The department is one of the busiest in the UK

We are looking for a nurse who has experience in being in charge of a ward or a ward area and is looking for their next step on their career pathway. If you feel that you have limited specialist experience and would like a chance to expand your knowledge, we are able to support you in your career as we are privileged to have an inspirational team of Clinical Educators and Clinical Nurse Specialists who will help you bridge that gap and make you the highly skilled senior nurse that you know you can be. You will be allocated supernumery period to ensure that you feel confident and competent in your new role.

We can also offer this post to a Band 5 Registerd Nurse  who is not ready yet for Band 6 role- but is willing to come to us, and develop skills within our department to become a Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse. These candidates will need around 18 months of experience in paediatrics. Please contact us for more information.

We have a reputation for running a dynamic nurse led, patient cantered service, where research, ideas and individuals are valued. We actively encourage staff development through education programmes and in-house training and provide training in all areas of the specialties we look after on Snow Leopard.

Have we interested you in the post?

We would be delighted to meet you for an informal visit  and talk to you about the opportunities and benefits available to all Evelina London staff, and answer any questions you may have.

We look forward to meeting you!

From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.
