Are you committed to engaging with children and young people, their families, carers and other stakeholders in the design and development of services in the community and our hospitals?  At Evelina London, we want to ensure the voices of children and young patients, their parents and families are at the centre of our everyday business. We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to take responsibility for managing projects relating to the implementation patient and public engagement strategy and policy across Evelina London.

You must have demonstrable, significant experience of enabling the participation of children and young people, their families and carers in the design and development of services.  You should have a good working knowledge of legislation relating to patient and public engagement and specialist knowledge across a range of user engagement methodologies, techniques and approaches underpinned by theoretical knowledge from study and relevant practical experience preferably in a social / market research or academic environment. You will be a source of information and advice with regard to good practice in respect to patient and public engagement, responding to requests from colleagues across Evelina London, who want to involve patients and other key stakeholders in their work.  Sometimes this will mean dealing with contentious issues.

You must have proven data skills, with the ability to analyse and interpret a both quantitative and qualitative data. You should be politically astute and have strong communication skills and be able to present findings of patient and public engagement activities in a meaningful way.

You should be educated to degree level (or equivalent experience) and have substantial experience of children, youth and family engagement, ideally within the NHS, social research sector, a public or voluntary sector organisation.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
