Guy’s and St Thomas’ is among the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts. We provide a full range of hospital and community services for people in Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham, as well as specialist care for patients from further afield including cancer, renal, orthopaedic and cardiovascular services.

Guy’s is home to the largest dental school in Europe and a £160 million Cancer Centre opened in 2016. As part of our commitment to provide care closer to home, in 2017 we also opened a cancer centre and a kidney treatment centre at Queen Mary’s Hospital in Sidcup. St Thomas’ has one of the largest critical care units in the UK and one of the busiest emergency departments in London. It is also home to Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

The commitment of our 17,100 staff is key to our success. We are one of the largest local employers and we aim to develop and support all our staff so they are able to deliver high quality, safe and efficient care. The 2018 NHS staff survey results show that we have one of the most engaged and motivated workforces in the NHS. We know this has a positive impact on the care provided to our patients.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced paediatric nurse to join our Fetal Cardiology Team at Evelina London Children's Hospital.

Due to development and expansion of the service we are looking to recruit a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist who will support our families at Evelina London Children’s Hospital and at outreach clinics.

The Fetal Cardiology Clinical Nurse Specialist will be a highly experienced, knowledgeable and educated member of the team who is able to work autonomously, making high level decisions to meet the health needs of the patients under our service. Advanced level practice encompasses aspects of education, research and management but is firmly grounded in direct care provision and clinical work with children and families.  We are looking for a highly motivated nurse with Congenital Heart Disease experience, however, relevant clinical experience or management of long term conditions will be considered.

The CNS will ensure that the child's experience is of the highest quality inspiring child, family and public confidence. This will be achieved through high visibility, accessibility and surveillance.

You’ll be part of the team responsible for children’s cardiac surgery, pioneering intervention and providing holistic care for our patients and their families.

You’ll also have the privilege of working with highly experienced clinical educators in all areas who will support and develop you at every step of the way. As part of our team you’ll have the opportunity to partake in courses to support your practice, develop your skills and knowledge and go to cardiac conferences, making a difference to many young lives.

Patients are at the heart of what we do. Follow in the footsteps of Florence Nightingale and become part of our special team at Evelina London Children’s Healthcare.
