The Darzi Fellowship Clinical Leadership Programme is designed to build the training and development of senior clinical leaders by supporting them in a 12-month project-based attachment in a London NHS organisation, as well as providing them with educational training over the course of the 2019/20 academic year. The programme offers Fellows a unique opportunity to develop the capability necessary for their future roles as clinical leaders. The Darzi Fellowship is considered a prestigious post and is highly recommended for aspiring clinical leaders.

The Health Innovation Network (HIN) is the Academic Health Science Network for South London. We focus on the spread and adoption of lasting system-wide improvements in patient and population health, strengthening relationships and capitalising on teaching and research strengths across South London. Our members include acute, specialist, community and mental Health NHS trusts, primary care, clinical commissioning groups and local authorities. We work closely with our members as well as industry, academia and patients and the public to facilitate system wide change and improvement. The Network is hosted by Guy’s and St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

The Darzi Fellow will be hosted within the Mental Health clinical theme at the HIN and be supported by clinical supervisors to deliver service improvement. The Darzi will work in partnership with South West London St Georges Mental Health NHS Trust .

Applicant requirements

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
