The ENT/Head and Neck Department is looking for a full time Consultant in head and neck surgical oncology.

The post holder will be expected to provide specialist Head and Neck services on the Guy’s and St Thomas’ sites. Experience and a demonstrated ability in ablative head and neck cancer surgery specifically complex airway management (benign and malignant) research, audit, medical innovation and working within a well established Head and Neck multidisciplinary team will be a requirement for the post, in addition clinical experience of and exposure to robotic surgery would be advantageous.

Guy’s & St Thomas’ (GSTT) is a partner of King’s Healthcare Partners as an Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC). The Head and neck unit at Guy’s provides a comprehensive tertiary head and neck surgical oncology service, including skull base, thyroid and salivary malignancy.  It operates as the central hub of the South East London Head and Neck cancer network working closely with Kings College Hospital, The Princess Royal Hospital (Bromley), Queen Mary’s Hospital (Sidcup), University Hospital Lewisham and Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Woolwich) . A full outpatient and inpatient head and neck service is provided by 6 consultants to the Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital sites. The service includes elective work for adults and children in conjunction with the paediatric otolaryngology team at the Evelina Childrens Hospital on the St Thomas’ Hospital Site.  The department has many areas of special interest including immunotherapy, enhanced recovery, salvage surgery and computer aided reconstruction, bone necrosis, complex thyroid malignancy in collaboration with thoracic surgery. 

The post will be based at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation Trust. However, it is a requirement of your employment that you be prepared to work at any additional or different locations owned or serviced by the Trust, either on an on-going or temporary basis according the to the demands of the Service.
