We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Senior Pharmacy Technician to work 15 hours per week as part of our Transplant, Renal & Urology (TRU) pharmacy team to deliver a high quality pharmacy service to TRU patients.

Specific duties include:

• Supervising medicines supply for renal and urology patients in the hospital and other satellite locations, including:

                • Dispensing and checking

                • Medicines reconciliation

                • Assessing patient’s own drugs

                • Patient counselling

                • Developing and managing ward stock control

• Supervising, training and assessing SATOs and rotational pharmacy technicians working on the wards

• Undertaking audit and project work

The successful candidates must be able to demonstrate:

• Excellent interpersonal skills in a multidisciplinary environment

• Good IT skills

• The ability to work accurately, both independently and as part of a team

• The flexibility to adapt to changing demands

• The ability to work to precise timescales and deadlines

This is an ideal opportunity for you to gain experience in a very rewarding area of work. You should have experience of medicines reconciliation and patient counselling at ward level and should enjoy working with patients as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. You should already possess the Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification.

Workings Days will be Thursday and Fridays
