Join us and become part of the most engaged workforce of any NHS trust in England, according to the latest national NHS Staff Survey results – for the second year running.

You will be joining a dynamic and forward-looking organisation in the heart of the capital where you can develop your career and broaden your horizons.

We think you will enjoy working for us but you don’t have to take our word for it – 79% of staff who took part in the latest national NHS Staff Survey would recommend Guy’s and St Thomas’ as a place to work.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Dietitian with extensive specialist diabetes experience to join the dietetic diabetes team across Guys and St Thomas' Hospitals. The position is full time on a fixed term contract until March 2020 whilst the current post holder is on secondment.

The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery and ongoing development of a specialist dietetic service to complex in and out patients with diabetes at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals, and also in community settings in Lambeth and Southwark.  This will include delivering multidisciplinary, one to one and group education sessions for out-patients as well as providing dietetic support to complex in-patients on enteral and parenteral feed requiring insulin.

You will join a team of 6 other dietitians and will work closely with the wider diabetes and dietetic teams. You should have knowledge of diabetes management as well as previous experience managing type 1 and 2 diabetes and ideally artificial nutritional support patients requiring insulin.  You will be involved in research, audit and service evaluation and will have opportunity for ongoing CPD.

We are a large Academic Health Sciences Centre with King’s College London and King’s College Hospital and South London and the Maudsley NHS Foundation Trusts. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced clinicians and leading researchers in the Trusts and at King’s College, London. The post holder will be joining a team of over 80 Dietitians working across Guy's, St Thomas’, the Evelina Children's Hospital, and Lambeth and Southwark CCGs.

Closing Date: 19 November 2018 at midnight

Interviews will be held week commencing 26 November 2018

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
