Join us and become part of the most engaged workforce of any NHS trust in England, according to the latest national NHS Staff Survey results – for the second year running.

You will be joining a dynamic and forward-looking organisation in the heart of the capital where you can develop your career and broaden your horizons.

We think you will enjoy working for us but you don’t have to take our word for it – 79% of staff who took part in the latest national NHS Staff Survey would recommend Guy’s and St Thomas’ as a place to work.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and highly motivated neuro Occupational Therapist to join a large, innovative and supportive multidisciplinary Neuro Rehab service. The Community Neuro-Rehabilitation Service comprises four different clinical pathways and aims to provide client-centred, evidence based multidisciplinary community neuro-rehabilitation to adults over 16 years in the London Boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark.

The position is aligned to the Neuro Conditions Team, and will offer the successful candidate an opportunity to work with patients with a wide range of neurological conditions predominantly in the borough of Southwark.

Intervention is short term and goal oriented. A self-management approach is used to encourage patients to participate actively in their rehab. You will work closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team including rehab assistants as well as other services including Social care, to ensure a co-ordinated approach to client care. You will lead on OT provision within the team across both Lambeth and Southwark as well as contribute to multidisciplinary service improvement initiatives. You will also have responsibility for supervising and supporting junior staff.

This position would suit a therapist with strong clinical skills at specialist level in the area of adults with neurological conditions (including managing patients with long term or progressive conditions), the ability to teach and support others and to demonstrate efficacy and outcomes. You will be encouraged to develop your clinical and managerial skills within the team with the support of the Clinical Lead and other experienced staff across the service.

As well as the above, we can offer you:
- regular In Service Training sessions, both Occupational Therapy specific and MDT.

-Access to external funding based on your objectives and learning needs..
- the chance to be involved in and lead on service improvement projects.
- supervision and support from your line manager, as well as a peer support group of Band 7 OTs.
- a yearly appraisal and personal development plan

- opportunity to supervise and support more junior staff
- close MDT and partnership working in a friendly, supportive and sociable team!

We will also consider individuals who wish to apply for a secondment.

Closing Date: 25 November 2018 at midnight

Proposed Interview date: 4 December 2018
