Join us and become part of the most engaged workforce of any NHS trust in England, according to the latest national NHS Staff Survey results – for the second year running.

You will be joining a dynamic and forward-looking organisation in the heart of the capital where you can develop your career and broaden your horizons.

We think you will enjoy working for us but you don’t have to take our word for it – 79% of staff who took part in the latest national NHS Staff Survey would recommend Guy’s and St Thomas’ as a place to work.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated, experienced nurse to join our Chemotherapy team.

We are now in a new, state of the art Cancer Centre at Guy’s Hospital. The centre is a hub for South East London, providing specialist cancer services, training, development and research.

We also run a satellite chemotherapy day unit at Queen Mary's Hospital in Sidcup. Staff would be expected to cover occasional shifts at this site if needed.

We are passionate about constantly improving our service and delivering high quality care to our patients and strive to build upon our already 'excellent' rated service. We have a significant focus on patient feedback and involvement and with a current satisfaction rate of above 97% are proud to be at the forefront of developing new and dynamic approaches to oncology and haematology care.

Due to service expansion, we are looking for committed individuals with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, who have a genuine interest in working with oncology and haematology to join our team. We are dedicated to training and developing our staff in their chosen field.

The successful candidate will be joining a large team of specialist staff to support patients throughout their treatment. The successful applicant should have at least one years experience in the administration of chemotherapy and of supporting patients and their families with a cancer diagnosis. This role can also include working alongside the Acute Oncology Team supporting the day assessment unit.

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
