Organisational Development Consultant – 8c

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Organisational Development Team within the Workforce Directorate for a period of 6 months.

 The role of the Organisational Development Team is to support the Trust to achieve its ambitious strategic agenda and as such has a very stretching and ambitious programme of work over the next two to five years.

 The OD scope of work covers four main pillars:

  • Culture and staff engagement
  • Organisational effectiveness
  • Leadership
  • Organisational Design

 We are seeking an experienced OD consultant to join the team and work across the four pillars with a particular focus on organisational effectiveness. 

 The Trust treats a high volume of patients and safety of those patients and our staff is of paramount importance and this role will work closely with the Medical Directors Office and other key senior leaders in the organisation to support our approach to organisational effectiveness. This is an exciting and innovative opportunity and requires someone with significant diagnostic and dialogic OD experience, with a track record of working with teams to bring about sustainable change in highly pressurised environments.  The post holder will be working closely with the Director of OD and the wider OD team to take this work forward.

 The OD team are often contacted by local teams for support and therefore experience of working within the consulting cycle and effective contracting is essential. The successful candidate will provide OD expertise to teams on a commissioned basis, ensuring that our teams are able to work as effectively as possible therefore experience of working with clinical teams in an NHS setting is required.  A large proportion of the role involves working with teams; to provide challenge and perform diagnostics that can ‘hold a mirror up’ and therefore an ability to effectively and diplomatically manage conflict to support teams achieve positive outcomes is a critical success factor.

This is a fixed term 6 months contract and the Director of OD is seeking a highly experienced, politically astute team member who can work closely with our directorate management teams to have the confidence to tackle some of our complex issues.  The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working at a senior/ strategic level of OD practice in a complex organisation and delivery of impactful interventions.
