Band 7 Full-Time - Permanent Contract

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our in-house Orthotics team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. We are part of King’s Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre (AHSC), a pioneering collaboration between one of the world’s leading research-led universities and three of London’s most successful NHS Foundation Trusts. It consists of King’s College London, Guy’s and St Thomas’, King’s College Hospital and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trusts.

The Orthotic Department is based at Bowley Close Rehabilitation Centre, a purpose designed building with specialist staffing, equipment and facilities necessary for the assessment and treatment of people with disabilities.  Our services include:

  • Rehabilitation Consultant-led MDTs
  • Orthotics
  • Amputee Rehabilitation
  • Wheelchairs and Specialist Seating
  • Assistive Technology
  • Counselling

We provide an award-winning level of service to residents across London, adjacent areas and nationally. We operate at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, King’s College Hospital and several rehabilitation units and local child development centres bringing with this role a huge opportunity to be exposed to interesting and varied caseloads. Many of our clinics are held in a multidisciplinary setting and our specialities include neuro-rehabilitation, paediatrics, foot and ankle, diabetic, spinal and specialist polio KAFO clinics.

We encourage a close working environment with our Technicians in our large on-site workshop which has consistently proven to facilitate and enhance individual clinicians. The clinical team can rectify their own plaster models for which we offer full training and support but we are also committed to innovation and progressive therapy with investment and integration of the Rodin M4D Scanner and recent acquisition of the new 3D LASAR Posture technology.

As a department, we actively encourage team members to progress their careers with postgraduate training and protected Continued Professional Development (CPD) time is included within the timetable of all Orthotic clinical staff.

We are seeking a confident, motivated and driven Senior Orthotist who wishes to be challenged and to join us as in driving the department forward.
