Guy’s and St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is made up of two of London’s best known teaching hospitals and employs over 13,650 staff and have over 2 million patient contacts a year. Our annual turnover is now £1.3 billion.

The Department of Paediatric Dentistry at GSTT is seeking a part-time (4 PAs) Consultant Paediatric Dentist to join a dynamic, enthusiastic and forward thinking team. The post will be shared with St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (6 PAs).

The department of Paediatric Dentistry at GSTT has a long established specialist service in Paediatric Dentistry and we are looking for an individual with appropriate skills to complement this team and help keep the service in the forefront of clinical and academic excellence.

Applicants must be fully registered with the GDC and on the GDC Specialist Register in Paediatric Dentistry, FDS/MFDS or equivalent, be accredited or within six months of such accreditation at interview stage and have completed a SAC approved training programme or equivalent.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a first class team in an active and progressive central London teaching hospital environment.

As an organisation, we are committed to developing our services in ways that best suit the needs of our patients. This includes asking certain groups of staff to work more flexibly so that we can offer services to patients in the evenings and at weekends. We regard this flexibility as essential if we are to continue to provide first class patient care in the future. As a result, any offer of employment to a consultant post will be subject to you agreeing to a new more flexible pattern of working in the future if required and in accordance with the provisions of the new Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust consultant contract.

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
