Join us and become part of the most engaged workforce of any NHS trust in England, according to the latest national NHS Staff Survey results – for the second year running.

You will be joining a dynamic and forward-looking organisation in the heart of the capital where you can develop your career and broaden your horizons.

We think you will enjoy working for us but you don’t have to take our word for it – 79% of staff who took part in the latest national NHS Staff Survey would recommend Guy’s and St Thomas’ as a place to work.

Our award-winning Children’s Emergency Department and 6 bedded Children Short Stay Unit, part of Evelina London, is looking for a dynamic Band 7 nurse to join our team.

Evelina London is an internationally recognised children’s hospital, which is part of Guy’s and St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

Evelina London was the first children’s hospital to be awarded ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and we continue to evolve and grow.

 In this role, you will:

  • Provide professional and inspirational leadership to the multi-disciplinary team
  • Be responsible for the effective and efficient operational management of the department.
  • Lead the provision of excellent patient and family focused care

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who demonstrates excellent clinical skills, significant senior paediatric emergency experience, excellent leadership qualities and a high level of organisational and communication skills.

We believe in developing our staff and you will be given leadership training opportunities to support you in your role, as well as access to our established band specific development training days.

Please note this role will require you to work days, nights and weekends. You will be given notice of your shifts to enable you to plan your work and home life.

If you would like to be considered for this exciting opportunity, please apply online. We look forward to your application.

Interviews will take place on 25th July 2018

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
