We are seeking to employ a Senior Clinical Research Fellow with broad experience of clinical and research working, who can contribute to ground-breaking advances in Paediatric Urology, joining a dynamic, forward thinking multi professional team. You will have an opportunity to develop new clinical skills focusing on research and putting patients first at all times.

This is a new clinical research post for 12 months beginning in October 2018 with possible further extension (suitable for trainees in paediatric urology, paediatric surgery or adult urology).

These will provide an exciting opportunity for candidates looking for a period of training in academic paediatric surgery and urology to work in close collaboration with leading clinical academics from the nephro-urology department of Evelina London Children’s Hospital.
The post will suit SPRs on existing training programmes (either paediatric surgery or urology) who would like experience during an OOPR and are considering undertaking an MD or PhD training period. In addition, they are suitable for trainees who have obtained part 2 of MRCP who have yet to obtain a training number and would like clinical and academic experience relevant for one of the specialties listed above.
The post holder will assist in developing and writing grants to support the delivery of future studies. The Research activity is led by Mr Massimo Garriboli Consultant Paediatric Urologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer at King’s College.

In addition, the post holder will be expected to assist in other relevant ongoing research studies within the department.
The successful post-holder will also participate in the care of paediatric urology patients under consultant supervision. This will include paediatric urology outpatient clinics (2 - 3 / week) and surgical lists (10 lists / year).

The department of Paediatric Urology is based within Evelina London Children’s Hospital and is one of the most active Departments in the Country. We look after patients from antenatal to adolescence before the transition to adult services.

You’ll ensure that all research safeguards the well-being of patients and is conducted according to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and relevant regulations.
Full support will be given with training in research methodology and governance.

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
