This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued development and management of the Paediatric Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Therapy Service (pOPAT), working alongside lead consultant and pharmacist and medical teams currently caring for these children and their families.

The succesful applicant will demonstrate expertise in antibiotic stewardship, central and peripheral line insertion/care/management and infection prevention practices.

They will coordinate packages for outpatients intravenous antibiotic therapy between acute care and the community settings liaising with regional OPAT teams as appropriate.

They will provide specialist advice, education and support to healthcare professionals and parents/carers of children in the acute and community setting.

There will be the opportunity to undertake further training to enable the post holder to insert PICC lines under local anaesthetic in a suitable environment.
