Join us and become part of the most engaged workforce of any NHS trust in England, according to the latest national NHS Staff Survey results – for the second year running.

You will be joining a dynamic and forward-looking organisation in the heart of the capital where you can develop your career and broaden your horizons.

We think you will enjoy working for us but you don’t have to take our word for it – 79% of staff who took part in the latest national NHS Staff Survey would recommend Guy’s and St Thomas’ as a place to work.

Reach for the Sky at Evelina London Children’s Hospital!

Did you know that across the river from the House of Parliament and Big Ben there is a world-class, internationally recognised children’s hospital, Evelina London? We are one of two comprehensive children’s hospitals in London. A hospital within a hospital based on the site of the historic St Thomas’ Hospital, and part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, the home of Florence Nightingale. We were awarded ‘Outstanding’ in the 2016 Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection, and we continue to evolve and grow, transforming our services. So come and meet us and let us transform your career.

The all new Sky Ward will enable us to expand our well established 29 beds for children needing critical care. Our specialist staff and services mean we care for children and young people with varying complex conditions. We are the lead centre for intensive care in the south-east region and home of the South Thames Retrieval Service (STRS), a transport service for all critically ill children south of the river Thames. STRS receives over 1,800 referrals a year, moves around 900 children between hospitals and provides training and simulation courses to partner hospitals.

As a nurse coming to Evelina London we will give you the space to develop with the support of our inspirational education team and your career pathway will be enabled through the Evelina Academy. You will be an integral member of a team of nurses who are outstanding ambassadors for paediatric care. As a member of a multi-disciplinary team you will be committed to progressing our critical care into its next exciting stage of development, as Evelina London grows and influences care not only locally and nationally, but throughout the south-east England network.

We will nurture dynamic and motivated nurses to provide outstanding nursing care to the child and family and enable you to reach for the Sky.

If you would like to come and look around our award winning hospital, we would be delighted to meet you and talk to you about the opportunities to develop you and your career in critical care or cardiology as a children’s nurse. So if you want to walk in the footsteps of Florence Nightingale and into the future as an Evelina Nurse, come and meet us. We look forward to seeing you!

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
