Join us and become part of the most engaged workforce of any NHS trust in England, according to the latest national NHS Staff Survey results – for the second year running.

You will be joining a dynamic and forward-looking organisation in the heart of the capital where you can develop your career and broaden your horizons.

We think you will enjoy working for us but you don’t have to take our word for it – 79% of staff who took part in the latest national NHS Staff Survey would recommend Guy’s and St Thomas’ as a place to work.

Evelina London Children’s Hospital cares for children and young people from across south London and south east England, and is proud to be the first children's hospital to be rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission.

We are delighted to invite applications for the post of Clinical Educator for Paediatric Surgery.

Based in Evelina, you would be responsible for the training and development of registered nurses and nursing assistants working in a range of surgical specialities, providing optimal learning opportunities and ensuring safe care.

As an excellent clinical role model we anticipate that you will be highly visible and work alongside the ward staff and assist the Ward Manager in the smooth running of the wards when necessary.

As Clinical Educator you require excellent clinical skills and knowledge, and demonstrate a desire to maintain a culture of continuous improvement and staff development. Ideally you will have experience teaching a wide range of clinical staff and students in a variety of situations, and have some experience facilitating study days.

This post is suitable for experienced paediatric nurses who have experience working with children in a variety of surgical specialities and who would like the opportunity to develop their career within Education. You will be well supported by the Clinical Lead for Education, Ward Managers and Clinical Nurses Specialists.

If you feel you have the skills, enthusiasm and ambition to lead this fantastic team we want to hear from you.

Closing date: 18th November 2018

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
