We have an exciting opportunity at St Thomas' Pharmacy for a Dispensary Manager to join our Pharmacy team. You will be required to provide an exemplary pharmacy service in accordance with current legislation, accepted professional and ethical standards and clinical requirements. You will also be responsible for leading, motivating and effectively managing the pharmacy team and its budgets by providing excellent clinical and managerial leadership.

You must be a Registered Pharmacist with extensive experience working in an acute hospital environment.

This role is full time (37.5 hours per week) and you will be expected to work within the pharmacy rota system which covers the opening times of 07:00-19:00 Monday - Sunday. Therefore, you will be expected to work approximately 1 in every 6 weekends, this includes bank holidays. This is for a fixed term appointment of 1 year in the first instance, available from April 2018.

You will be responsible for a team of Pharmacists, Pharmacy Assistants, Technicians and Assistants and will be expected to provide excellent management and leadership within the department. You will be required to manage a team so must be able to demonstrate this experience at interview. As the Dispensary Manager for a busy site, you will need excellent dispensing technical skills and be able to demonstrate ability to work quickly, calmly and accurately under pressure.

A significant part of the role is to ensure compliance to current standards so a working knowledge of current standards is required in order to amend policy and procedure as appropriate and provide (or source) team training and coaching.
