Band 7 Full time, Fixed term Maternity Leave Cover

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly specialist neuro physiotherapist to join a large, well-established and innovative multidisciplinary Neuro Rehab service to provide maternity leave cover for 6 months (until October 2019). There are three community pathways within the neuro rehab service: Stroke, Neuro Conditions and NeuroRehab Enhanced Transition Team (NETT), as well as 6 in-patient neuro rehab beds and a neuro-navigation service. We provide a service to patients living in Lambeth and Southwark, offering goal oriented intervention using a self-management approach to encourage patients to participate actively in their rehab.

The position is aligned to the Neuro Conditions Team working primarily with patients in Southwark. There are two other band 7 physios and three band 6 physios across the 2 boroughs. You will also work closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team including rehab assistants as well as other services including Social care, to ensure a co-ordinated approach to client care. You will be expected to contribute to multidisciplinary service improvement initiatives. You will also have responsibility for supervising and supporting junior staff.

This position would suit a therapist with significant band 6 or 7 experience working with adults with neurological conditions with a desire to develop this specialism further whilst also developing your clinical and managerial skills within the team.

 We can offer you:

  • A rewarding opportunity to further your specialism in neuro rehab in a community setting
  • A chance to be involved in discipline specific and wider team project work
  • A supportive and friendly multidisciplinary team.
  • Supervision and support from Clinical Lead and other experienced staff across the service
  • Band 7 Physio peer support group.
  • A chance to develop your leadership and managerial skills
  • Close MDT and partnership working.
  • In service training opportunities

Staff are well-supported through supervision and the appraisal process and have access to a planned programme of inservice training (both profession specific and MDT) in addition to the benefits of belonging to Guys and St Thomas’ Foundation Trust and Kings Health Partners, an Academic Healthcare Centre.

We will also consider applications from individuals interested in doing this position as a secondment.

Closing Date: 21st January 2019 at Midnight

Interviews are likely to be held on Wednesday 6th February 2019.

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.
