The Private Patients Team are seeking to appoint an exceptional Reservations Co-ordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Private Patients team across Guy’s and St Thomas’ in a full-time administration post. The Private Patients service is a dynamic, evolving service that sits within one of the largest commercial divisions within the NHS. The successful applicant will need to have the ability to work independently and to adapt and prioritise work to support the needs of the service.

The Reservations Co-ordinator will provide a high quality administrative support service to the Reservations Department and to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the Trust’s Private Patients Units to include Howard Ward and Westminster Bridge Consulting Rooms reservations and reception services. They provide strong administrative support to enable this delivery.
The post holder will provide comprehensive, efficient and quality administration and co-ordinator support to Trust Consultants, their secretaries, private patients, the Private Patients Management team and external organisations including Private Medical Insurers and London Embassies and Health Offices. The position involves dealing with highly complex and sensitive information requiring confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

They will provide a broad range of support activities to ongoing and fixed term projects within the department and will ensure the smooth running of the offices and effective internal and external liaison to contribute to the successful running of the offices as a whole. The role will require the individual to interact with multidisciplinary teams in very busy office and clinic environments, dealing with highly complex and sensitive issues, often requiring appropriate judgements to be made under minimal supervision.
They will also provide adequate short and long-term cover for all other members of the reservations team during periods of planned and unplanned absences

The post holder will support Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust through active relationship building by actively promoting the Trust’s clinical services, specialties and Consultants, in order to increase the contribution that Private Patient Services make to NHS services.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
