Join us and become part of the most engaged workforce of any NHS trust in England, according to the latest national NHS Staff Survey results – for the second year running.

You will be joining a dynamic and forward-looking organisation in the heart of the capital where you can develop your career and broaden your horizons.

We think you will enjoy working for us but you don’t have to take our word for it – 79% of staff who took part in the latest national NHS Staff Survey would recommend Guy’s and St Thomas’ as a place to work.

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and enthusiastic person to join our team of Band 7 Radiographers at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. As one of the most successful and highly regarded teaching hospitals in the NHS we are able to provide enviable opportunities for you to develop your career. We offer exposure to a fantastic combination of routine, varied and often highly specialised experiences. Our radiographers rotate across our sites into the busy departments of A&E, Guy’s, St Thomas’, the Evelina London Children’s Hospital and Guy’s Cancer Centre. We have an impressive array of high tech equipment but our greatest asset is our highly skilled, patient focussed and friendly team. Our ethos is about mutual support and shared achievement, developing our staff and services to provide exemplary levels of care to our patients. Our sites are located in stunning central London locations giving you every opportunity for both social and professional rewards.

We are currently undertaking large scale projects across all three sites which will see the addition of new CT & MRI scanners, an impressive combined MRI and bi-plane imaging suite in Evelina London and an Emergency Services re-design. We are therefore looking for talented and ambitious band 7 Radiographers to support the expansion of our imaging departments and the introduction of additional imaging capacity across our modalities.

The Band 7 Radiographers undertake a varied role working within all of the Trust's Hospitals. You will already have highly developed skills and expertise in a wide range of modalities including CT, Interventional Radiography, Paediatric Imaging, Fluoroscopy, A&E and General Imaging.

As a Band 7 Radiographer you will also need to be able to manage and lead an area of the Radiology Department in the absence of the Superintendent Radiographer. You will enhance your skills in all modalities whilst also gaining valuable experience in leadership and supervision.

We invite applications from high achievers who are able to deliver exceptional care and service within our team. The radiology department runs a 24/7 service and operates an out of hours system wherein radiographers are contracted to work out of hours shifts at night, on weekends and bank holidays.

Interviews will be held on the week beginning the 05/02/2018.

Closing date: 21/01/2018

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
