Join us and become part of the most engaged workforce of any NHS trust in England, according to the latest national NHS Staff Survey results – for the second year running.

You will be joining a dynamic and forward-looking organisation in the heart of the capital where you can develop your career and broaden your horizons.

We think you will enjoy working for us but you don’t have to take our word for it – 79% of staff who took part in the latest national NHS Staff Survey would recommend Guy’s and St Thomas’ as a place to work.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic pharmacist to become part of our multi-disciplinary team, delivering high quality care to renal, transplant and urology patients.

Guy's and St Thomas' is a centre of excellence for the treatment of kidney and urological diseases. Inpatient and outpatient clinical services are centred at Guy's Hospital, with outreach services offered on a number of sites in South East London and Kent.

The Renal, Transplant and Urology Pharmacy Team is involved at every stage of the renal and urology patient pathways, including pre-admission clinics, rare diseases treatments, outpatient clinics, clinical trials and participating in consultant-led ward rounds. We also undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching for the whole MDT, support research, write local guidelines, write patient information leaflets, financial reporting, homecare provision, patient pathway improvement and independent prescribing.

We are looking for a motivated pharmacist with excellent communication skills committed to service improvement and self-development who will be trained to support the provision of these services.

Candidates should have undertaken a structured, competence-based training program (equivalent to diploma level) equipping them with skills to manage complex patients within a multi-disciplinary environment.

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
