Join us and become part of the most engaged workforce of any NHS trust in England, according to the latest national NHS Staff Survey results – for the second year running.

You will be joining a dynamic and forward-looking organisation in the heart of the capital where you can develop your career and broaden your horizons.

We think you will enjoy working for us but you don’t have to take our word for it – 79% of staff who took part in the latest national NHS Staff Survey would recommend Guy’s and St Thomas’ as a place to work.

Clinical Trials Associate Band 4 – Transplant, Renal and Urology Directorate, Guy’s Hospital.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to become part of the Transplant, Renal and Urology research team at Guy’s Hospital.

This team supports a large portfolio of national and internationally important non-commercial clinical trials. The post holder will play a key role in supporting new and existing trials across the expanding portfolio, with involvement in consenting patients for clinical trials, and providing clinical and data management support. The post holder will be based within a team of research nurses and will need to be able to work well within a team, and autonomously at times to ensure the effective management and delivery of the research portfolio.

We are looking for an individual with excellent planning, organisational and communication skills; with the ability and initiative to work autonomously and as part of a wider team. The role is ideal for an individual with previous research experience, who is keen to develop their career further in clinical trials.

The post holder will work in collaboration with the R&D consultant lead, Research Matron, Principal Investigators and research support staff, to ensure compliance with Trust Policy, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), HTA and other relevant requirements.

Applicants should hold a minimum of NVQ level 3 or 4 with relevant experience in scientific and medical research. Previous experience of caring for patients in a healthcare setting and involvement in supporting clinical research is desirable.

Closing Date: 21 October 2018 at Midnight

Interview date: Friday 02 November 2018.

Applicant requirements

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
