We are seeking dynamic and highly motivated individuals with a nursing, midwifery or allied health professional background to join the team as full or part-time Clinical Simulation Educator for a fixed period of one year.

This post is designed for a practicing health care professional with a keen interest in simulation and education. We encourage applicants to work between simulation and their place of work to enable them to develop simulation faculty expertise whilst retaining their clinical practice, therefore both full and part-time applications will be considered. Applicants are encouraged to have discussions with their line managers prior to applying as secondment arrangements may be required.

The post holder will be supported to fulfil a senior role within the Simulation faculty and be required to undertake the responsibilities of an advanced simulation debriefer.

The successful applicant will be required to plan, design and deliver a range of Simulation and Interactive programmes including skills teaching, in-situ and centre based simulation training. They will be required to do this by drawing on their clinical expertise, evaluate current training provision and recognise the learning needs of their clinical colleagues. All this whilst meeting professionally standards to remain on the NMC register and in line with national policies and guidelines.

We are keen that applicants have simulation training and debriefing skills however training and development will be made available for those who do not.

Applicant requirements

The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable people and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
