An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a specialist enthusiastic, committed pharmacist(s) to become part of our multi-disciplinary team to deliver a high quality pharmacy services to medical and surgical patients at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust

The Core Clinical rotation is a key part of the experiential programme that will allow the individual pharmacists to gain skills necessary to develop as a highly specialist clinical pharmacist and prepare for competitive selection into specialist hospital environments in the Specialist Generalist (long term conditions) or Acute experiential rotations.

The core clinical rotation is designed as a two-year programme to provide 12 months experience in both general medicine and general surgery.

By working in a structured environment with the support of senior clinical pharmacists, pharmacists in the core clinical rotations will build skills in management and leadership as well as extending clinical knowledge and experience.

As well as delivering ward-based clinical services, the candidate will have the opportunity to undertake Trust-based management courses, team management and organisation responsibilities (i.e. staff planning, rostering and business planning), taking on a leadership role (i.e. project supervision, training, mentoring and appraisal of junior staff members) and generating reports and leading investigations in line with Directorate priorities (i.e. root-cause analysis and finance reporting).

Clinical development opportunities include training and participation in post-take ward rounds, anti-coagulation clinics and may also provide the opportunity to undertake the Independent Prescribing course.

We are looking for enthusiastic pharmacists with demonstrable competencies in hospital pharmacy practice, excellent communication skills and a demonstrable commitment to pharmaceutical care. Candidates should have undertaken the Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy (or be due to complete the programme within the next 12 months as a minimum).

Closing Date 17 October 2018 at Midnight

Interviews are provisionally scheduled for week commencing 22nd October 2018 (please ensure you are available for interview this week if applying).
