Join us and become part of the most engaged workforce of any NHS trust in England, according to the latest national NHS Staff Survey results – for the second year running.

You will be joining a dynamic and forward-looking organisation in the heart of the capital where you can develop your career and broaden your horizons.

We think you will enjoy working for us but you don’t have to take our word for it – 79% of staff who took part in the latest national NHS Staff Survey would recommend Guy’s and St Thomas’ as a place to work.

We are looking for an experienced clinical B7 pharmacist to join our ever expanding team!

This exciting opportunity has arisen due to ongoing growth of services and promotion of staff. The specialist rotations are an experiential programme that will allow individual pharmacists to gain skills necessary to develop as a highly specialist clinical pharmacist specifically in specialist acute hospital and community environments, by working in a structured environment with the support of senior clinical pharmacists. This programme builds on the skills, knowledge and experience gained at core clinical band 7 rotation level and encourages the pharmacist to take an active part in their experiential learning. The candidate will have the opportunity to deliver ward and clinic based services in one of the following rotation arms:

Specialist acute rotation 1 - ICU, GI surgery, Cardiology (acute), Oncology and Vascular/antibiotics

Specialist acute rotation 2 - ICU, Cardiac surgery, Renal, Head and neck/ENT and Nutrition.

Please note these are an outline of the current rotations and are subject to change.

We are looking for enthusiastic pharmacists with demonstrable competencies in hospital pharmacy practice, excellent communication skills and a demonstrable commitment to pharmaceutical care. Candidates should be able to demonstrate the ability to manage general medical and surgical patients, be able to organise and supervise juniors, respond to medicines incidents and have completed the Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent). Being a registered Independent Pharmacist Prescriber will be an advantage.

Interviews will be scheduled beginning the week of the 12th July 2018 (please ensure you are available for interview on these dates if applying).

Closing date: 30th June 2018 at midnight

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
