We have a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to join our multidisciplinary Community Neuro Rehab Service. You will be able to enhance your clinical skills as well as further develop your managerial skills in a friendly and supportive team.
The post is within our Neuro Conditions Team, based at Pulross Centre in Brixton, covering the borough of Lambeth. We are a well established service consisting of Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Rehab Assistants.

This team is part of the wider Community Neuro Rehab Service in Lambeth and Southwark, and offers short term multidisciplinary neuro rehabilitation to patients living with a long term neurological condition, such as Stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, MS, MND, dementia etc. Intervention is goal oriented and we use a self-management approach encouraging patients to participate actively in their rehab.

Across the Community Neuro Rehab Service as a whole, there are a number of Band 7 SALTs who meet regularly for peer support. There are also working parties of band 7s from all disciplines working on various aspects of service development such as audit, patient experience etc.

We are looking for someone who:
- is able to demonstrate specialist neurological expertise in assessment and evidenced based treatment approaches.
- has highly developed dysphagia skills
- can demonstrate strong collaborative working skills
- can show evidence of working on service development initiatives.
- can demonstrate leadership skills, including ability to supervise and support junior staff.
- has a positive and flexible approach.

We can offer you:
- a rewarding opportunity to build upon your prior experience and enhance your skills as a Speech and Language Therapist working with patients with neurological conditions.
- an opportunity to demonstrate and consolidate your leadership skills.
- the chance to be involved in service developments and initiatives.
- supervision and support from your line manager (also a Speech and Language Therapist), as well as a peer support group.
- a yearly appraisal and development plan
- close MDT and partnership working in a friendly and supportive team.

Closing date: 22nd July 2018 at midnight
Interviews are likely to be held on Tuesday 31st July 2018

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
