A fantastic opportunity has arisen at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust for Nodal Point 3 (ST1/ST2 level) experienced Trust Doctors/Clinical Fellows to undertake a 12 month surgical programme commencing from 2nd August 2018).

The appointed doctors will complete two six month placements in one of the following rotations:

  • Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • ENT Surgery
  • General Surgery
  • Onc Haem Breast Surgery
  • Orthopaedics
  • Plastics
  • Renal & Transplant
  • Urology
  • Vascular Surgery

Involvement with the simulation faculty

At interview you will be asked your preference of rotation although if successful we can not guarantee your first choice.

Post holders will have access to appropriate educational and clinical supervision and support.  In all placements there will be opportunities to increase surgical experience and participate in research projects and audit as well as provide undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.

If you are interested in pursuing a surgical career and wish to gain exposure to, and experience in a wide range of high quality surgical placements, then you should apply for these posts.

These surgical rotations are not accredited training posts, but the content will be similar to Core Surgical Training and post holders will be supervised in the same way as individuals undertaking Core Surgical Training. Those achieving competencies as demonstrated by ISCP evidence will gain a certificate of completion of Core Surgical Competencies that may enable
