Directorate of Surgical Oncology- Dorcas Ward

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Directorate of Surgery Oncology at Guy’s and St Thomas’ for a Senior Nursing Assistant ( Enhanced Recovery) within the speciality of Thoracic Surgery. Guy’s and St Thomas’ Thoracic Department is one of The UK’s leading services and we are looking for a suitable candidate for this new position within our dynamic and innovative multi-professional team.

This appointment is pivotal to the development and implementation of the Enhanced Recovery strategy within the Directorate and is strongly supported by our Nursing team, physiotherapy and Consultant Surgeons. The post holder will support the Ward Sister and the Senior Nursing team on the nursing development and patient care of our highly acclaimed ‘enhanced recovery service’ providing expert advice and clinical support to patients and multi-professional team on the thoracic pathway.

The successful applicant will have strong communications skills, hard working and will be able to demonstrate their ability to inspire and support the Senior nursing team in change management. The post holder will work closely with the medical, surgical and nursing teams to ensure that care is enhanced and patient experience is at the centre of the services we provide.
