The place to work in pathology

We are looking for top talent to join the UK’s leading and fastest growing pathology company – a scientific organisation with a clinical purpose.

Working in partnership with our service partners, Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals, King’s College Hospital, Bedford NHS Hospital Trusts, and Princess Royal University Hospital we aim to set the standard for the future of pathology.

This permanent Biomedical Scientist post (band 6 AfC equivalent) offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced BMS to further develop their specialist knowledge and skills in Clinical Biochemistry. You will be part of a team that provides specialist service delivery using the latest technologies in the Biochemical Sciences department at St Thomas’ Hospital. The department comprises four laboratories; Newborn Screening Laboratory for the South East Thames region, Reference Chemistry, Purine Research Laboratory and the Inherited Metabolic Disease (IMD) Laboratory. The post is initially based in the IMD laboratory where a variety of complex chromatographic techniques are used to aid diagnosis and monitoring of genetic diseases in metabolic biochemical pathways.

Applicants must have previous laboratory experience and have HCPC registration, and preferably have obtained their IBMS Specialist Portfolio. However candidates who have not obtained their IBMS Specialist Portfolio but are working towards it are invited to apply, and will initially be paid on the Band 5 Biomedical Scientist AfC equivalent grade until completion.

Interviews will be held November 7, 2018.
