The place to work in pathology

We are looking for top talent to join the UK’s leading and fastest growing pathology company – a scientific organisation with a clinical purpose.

Working in partnership with our service partners, Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals, King’s College Hospital, Bedford NHS Hospital Trusts, and Princess Royal University Hospital we aim to set the standard for the future of pathology.

We currently have exciting opportunities available to work in the Biochemistry Department within our modern facility at the Princess Royal University Hospital, just 20 minutes South of London

The department comprises an Automated Biochemistry Section and separate Immunology Screening section. You will have the opportunity to rotate through all areas of the department which will enhance your own development.

We are a very busy, progressive department, and continually strive to provide an efficient and quality driven service to our Bromley GP population, Out-Patients across Orpington and Beckenham Beacon hospitals, and to Acute Care patients on the PRUH site.

You will be joining a team of experts who process approximately 1.6 million tests per year, across all sections.

Our Automated laboratory provides a rapid analysis and screening service for a variety of disease groups including, renal, liver, cardiac and thyroid. Our main analytical platforms are currently Roche Cobas 6000 systems.

Our Immunology platform consists of Phadia 250, running a variety of tests including CTD screens, Allergy screens and ANCA screens, a Sebia Capillarys 2 Immuntyping system and a Binding Site Spa Plus for Free Light Chain measurement.

We are seeking applications from experienced and enthusiastic HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists, with a passion for clinical excellence and a drive for career development, to join our friendly and committed team of 13 BMS staff.

As a progressive department, we currently provide a full, 24/7 service, comprised of Core Hours Shifts and night and weekend shifts. It is expected that successful applicants will participate in the out of hour’s service, after completion of the appropriate training and competencies.

The successful candidates will hold an appropriate IBMS recognised degree and must hold, or be working towards their Specialist Portfolio in Biochemistry.
