An opportunity has arisen in the Core Haematology section of Blood Sciences for a Senior Biomedical Scientist to join our team. As a Senior Biomedical Scientist you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of a sub-section of Core Haematology. As part of this responsibility you will lead a small team of Biomedical Scientists and Medical Laboratory Assistants to deliver an efficient and effective service, including meeting quality objectives and KPI’s. You will also be expected to be actively involved in the training and development of others and the maintenance of the quality management system. There will also be opportunities to be involved in quality and service improvement initiatives.

The post holder must hold an MSc or equivalent in Haematology or Biomedical Science. You must have significant post HCPC registration experience in a diagnostic Haematology laboratory and have comprehensive knowledge of Haematology laboratory techniques.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
