The place to work in pathology

We are looking for top talent to join the UK’s leading and fastest growing pathology company – a scientific organisation with a clinical purpose.

Working in partnership with our service partners, Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals, King’s College Hospital, Bedford NHS Hospital Trusts, and Princess Royal University Hospital we aim to set the standard for the future of pathology.

Two vacancies for a registered BMS Band 5 has arisen to join our innovative Histopathology Department, within Viapath Analytics. The Histology department is based at the St. Thomas' Foundation Trust in Westminster.

The department employs approximately 34 scientific staff and offers a comprehensive range of services to regional and national referring clinicians. The department processes a wide range of surgical specimens and incorporates a Immunohistochemistry and Renal Biopsy section, as well a Molecular laboratory. The department processes approximately 30,000 cases per year.

The department is fully computerised, has UKAS accreditation and is registered as a training laboratory, where continuing professional development is supported and actively encouraged.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated Health Care Professions Council Registered Specialist Biomedical Scientist with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to join our team. Suitable applicants must have prior a good background and experience in Histology, and previous experience in Special stains and Frozen Sections will be considered a plus. The applicant will participate in the weekly rotation in the core laboratory.

A promotion to a Band 6 position would be possible and is subjected to successful completion of the Specialist Portfolio (Histology Specialisation) and successful assessment within two years after the position start date.

Please note, for vacancies that receive a high number of applications, we reserve the right to close the post before the stated closing date, so please apply as soon as possible.

Please email or phone for an informal visit of the department.
