The Immunophenotyping laboratory at Kings College Hospital is a comprehensive haematological malignancy flow cytometry service which provides a broad spectrum of testing for diagnosing, prognosis and monitoring of Chronic and Acute leukemias/lymphomas. The laboratory is an integral part of the Kings Haematological Malignancy Centre (HMDC). As well as the haematological malignancies, the Immunophenotyping Laboratory is also a reference center for the analysis of Paroxysmal Nocturnal Haemoglobinuria (PNH). It is fully CPA accredited and in addition to the scientific staff in the laboratory, we are supported by a dedicated quality and clinical team to ensure the highest standards at all stages of the diagnostic pathway. The laboratory is staffed by scientists who are specialists in leukaemia/lymphoma immunophenotyping and have significant experience in complex multiparameter flow cytometry.

As part of the combined HMDC we serve a population of 5.3 million adults (~10% of Great Britain) and in 2017 we performed over 9000 assays. We have been providing immunophenotyping facilities for over two decades and currently serve over 30 hospitals in London and the South-east.

The Immunophenotyping laboratory would like to recruit a responsible and self-motivated individual to support the dedicated team within the Kings HMDC. As a valued team member and higher level Medical Laboratory Assistant, you would be expected to aid the management of samples and reagents, assist scientists with flow cytometric assays and microscopy preparation, monitor and maintain laboratory equipment and provide administrative support. Training and development is a key focus at Viapath and this is an excellent opportunity to enhance skills and knowledge in a specialist laboratory environment.

Interviews will be held on: January 29, 2018
