The place to work in pathology

We are looking for top talent to join the UK’s leading and fastest growing pathology company – a scientific organisation with a clinical purpose.

Working in partnership with our service partners, Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals, King’s College Hospital, Bedford NHS Hospital Trusts, and Princess Royal University Hospital we aim to set the standard for the future of pathology.

Viapath Infection sciences are seeking an enthusiastic Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team to provide a seven day service working a 37.5 hour week. The post holder would be expected to join a team of MLAs that work 37.5 hours/week and be prepared to work as part of an extended working day rota that includes week day Core (9.00am to 5.30pm), Early (8.00am to 16.30pm), and Late (11.30am to 20.00pm) shifts and Weekend/Bank Holidays.

No formal qualifications are required although a good standard of education (to GCSE level or equivalent) is necessary and as the department is computerised, keyboard skills would be a great advantage. Applicants should be organized; with good communication and team working skills and the ability to work effectively. Full in-service training will be provided.

Main Duties will include the processing microbiological samples under the supervision of Biomedical scientists and will be involved with stock ordering, record keeping and maintenance of equipment and analysers. This department actively encourages all staff to be involved in projects and continuous personal development through self–learning and attending scientific talks.

Interviews will be held December 5, 2018.
