The place to work in pathology

We are looking for top talent to join the UK’s leading and fastest growing pathology company – a scientific organisation with a clinical purpose.

Working in partnership with our service partners, Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals, King’s College Hospital, Bedford NHS Hospital Trusts, and Princess Royal University Hospital we aim to set the standard for the future of pathology.

A vacancy has arisen for a HCPC-registered Clinical Scientist at Viapath’s King’s College Hospital site within the Infectious Science Department.

The Department carries out a large range of diagnostic tests for both virology and bacteriology, with research interests in both disciplines. These include projects looking at the differential expression of genes involved in host-pathogen interactions, with the aim of further characterising the molecular mechanisms involved, leading towards the development of novel diagnostic assays. Additionally the Department of Virology is looking at developing single molecule sequencing technology to detect pathogens in CSF samples.

As part of their professional development the post holder will be given the opportunity of gain FRCPath as a qualification. There will be a requirement for authorising results from both Virology and Bacteriology Departments, which are experiencing an increased workload due to demand from outside the host Trust.

Interviews will be held 29th October 2018
