Southwark Enhanced Rapid Response and Lambeth Enhanced Rapid Response/Supported Discharge Services are looking for 2 WTE Senior Specialist (Band 7) Physiotherapists to join its expanding and progressive teams.  Our Integrated Health and Social Care Multidisciplinary teams provide assessments and interventions to prevent admission to hospital, or facilitate discharge home following presentation to A&E or inpatient stay.

We are seeking physiotherapists with the ability to lead and motivate, demonstrate clinical expertise in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care within a supportive learning environment.  Our clinically-led holistic team also includes Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Pharmacy, Social Work and Medical disciplines, supported by Rehabilitation Support Workers, all working closely together to provide the highest possible level of clinical expertise, care and services.

Our services:

Enhanced Rapid Response and Supported Discharge Teams (ERR / SDT) provides health and care at home to adults aged 18 years and older who live in the South London boroughs of Lambeth or Southwark.  As a Senior Specialist Physiotherapist you will carry a varied and challenging caseload of clients, and be responsible for their assessment, treatment and rehabilitation.  You will see clients with a wide variety of conditions including issues such as falls, post-operative rehabilitation, palliative care, orthopaedics, rheumatology, neurology and frailty; and will utilise your specialist skills to manage people with complex health and social care needs.

You will be responsible for the line management, supervision, training, support and leadership of therapy and support staff within the team.  You will have the opportunity to lead on areas of service development and deputise for, and/or undertake work delegated by the Clinical Managers as required.

The post will be based at either the Whittington Centre in Streatham, or at Dulwich Community Hospital in Dulwich. The service operates from 8.30 am-9.30pm, seven days per week, 365 days per year, and you will participate in 7 day working and working non-traditional shift patterns. The shift patterns alternate between 8.30 to 16.30, 10.00 – 18.00 or 11.00 to 19.00 with on-call availability to 21.30. Willingness to accommodate future service changes and flexibility to work across different Trust sites and settings is essential.

You must have a degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy and be HCPC registered.  Significant broad based post registration experience at Band 5 or above is essential.  You should have a broad range of general rehabilitation skills, including the use of evidence based assessments and treatment programmes, and good knowledge of the use of clinical outcome measures.  You must possess excellent organisational, communication and problem solving skills, be skilled at working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams, and be able to deliver high standards of clinical care, in order to achieve good outcomes for clients.
